SUMMER READING
ACA Students will be participating in the Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge. The Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge is a free, online reading program designed to help students turn the “summer slide”—the learning loss which can occur over the summer months—into a “summer leap” by discovering the joy and magic of reading for fun.
Students will earn virtual prizes for each goal they meet. The goal for outgoing 2nd graders is 375 minutes. Feel free to read above the set goal. We will be looking for top readers in each grade when we return to school in August! ACA is also competing to be the top school in the state of Alabama for the most minutes read!
How does it work?
Each student will receive a unique Summer Enrichment paper in the envelope mailed home at the end of the school year. Students will also receive a paper copy at school during the last week of school. The paper has a unique QR code and username and password for each student. Click to view the how to videos on using QR Codes to sign in with smartphones or tablets, and usernames and passwords on Desktop/Laptop Computers.
